Newest Service Lets Guests Enjoy Healthy, Convenient and Fun Way to Explore Area & Get to Meetings
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (January 27, 2014) Zagster (zagster.com), a company that provides bikes-as-a-service, today announced it has partnered with the Hyatt Regency Sacramento to offer bike sharing to guests – the first bike share in Sacramento. Hotel guests can reserve and ride comfortable, city-friendly cruiser bikes, giving them a healthy, convenient and fun way to explore the area, visit friends or attend business meetings.
"In today’s congested cities, it’s increasingly easier, less expensive and more fun to get out and see the sights or attend meetings on a bike, rather than in a cab or rental car," said Timothy Ericson, co-founder and CEO of Zagster. "With Zagster at the Hyatt Regency, guests now have more options for personal transportation."
The service begins with four bikes available on-demand for guests at the hotel for up to a full day's use. To use Zagster, a guest simply signs a waiver at the concierge desk and is assigned a bike from available inventory. The bikes come with their own locking system, enabling riders to park them wherever they want throughout the ride.
"We’re constantly looking for new amenities to meet the needs of our guests, and Zagster is a perfect fit for today’s health and sustainability-conscious traveller," said Hyatt Regency Sacramento General Manager Scott VandenBerg. "With the American River Bicycle Trail and the state capitol nearby, our guests will have a new, fun and convenient way to get around town and see the sights."
Several California state history attractions are located a short ride from the hotel, including: the California State Capitol, Old Sacramento, Crocker Art Museum, and the California State Railroad Museum. With Zagster, guests can take in all the sites from the comfort of their bikes, while avoiding the hassles of finding a parking spot or hailing a cab.
The Sacramento location is the third Hyatt Regency in the nation to add Zagster bike sharing as an amenity for guests. The other Zagster/Hyatt programs have grown quickly, including at Hyatt’s Cambridge location, which has passed more than 1,000 rentals in the past year through its fleet of 15 bicycles.
Zagster is developing a national footprint of bike sharing programs in partnership with real estate/apartment companies, businesses, hotel chains and universities, all of whom are looking to provide value added services and benefits to tenants, guests or employees.
Founded in Philadelphia in 2007 as CityRyde and now headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., Zagster is one of the nation's first bike sharing companies. Zagster is uniquely focused on contracting with property managers, hotels, businesses, and universities across North America to make bike sharing programs available to tenants, employees, guests and students. This highly efficient and unique model allows Zagster to offer services in areas that traditional city-wide bike sharing systems can't reach.
